Udhampur Railway Station Renamed After Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan, Civil Flights Soon to Begin

Udhampur: Union Minister Jitendra Singh announced on social media that the Udhampur Railway Station has been officially renamed in honor of Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan (MCTM), recognizing the bravery of the fallen officer and highlighting the region’s growing importance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

In his tweet, Singh acknowledged a minor technical issue in the computerized ticketing system, where the destination name “Udhampur” was initially omitted. However, he confirmed that with the personal intervention of Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, corrective measures have been initiated and are expected to reflect soon in all ticketing processes.

“By default, the name of the destination ‘Udhampur’ was missed out in the computerised ticketing programme, but I am glad to share that the process of correcting this error has been initiated and shall be accomplished soon,” Singh wrote.

Additionally, the Union Minister shared promising news about regional connectivity: Udhampur Airport is set to begin civilian flight operations in the near future, with final arrangements currently underway. This development is expected to significantly enhance travel and economic opportunities for the region.
