Mumbai: Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut accused in an alleged rupees one thousand crore Patra Chawl land scam case was on Monday taken for medical check-up at the state-run JJ hospital, in south Mumbai. While talking to reporters before being taken for the medical check-up Raut said that entire Maharashtra is watching what is happening in the state. He also said that he will not bow down to the pressure tactics.

After undergoing the medical check-up, Raut will be produced in the special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court in the metropolis. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials are seeking custody of the Sena leader in the alleged land scam case. Later, the PMLA court granted ED custody of Raut till August 4.

Reacting to the developments, Maharashtra leader of the opposition in Legislative Assembly Ajit Pawar said that the ruling government should indulge in political vendetta though state and central agencies.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray visited the residence of Sanjay Raut in Bhandup where he met the mother and other family members of Sanjay Raut.

Later speaking to newspersons, Thackeray stated that he was proud of the fortitude shown by Sanjay Raut whom he described as a true Shivsainik and a long-standing friend. Lambasting Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president J P Nadda for his alleged controversial statement declaring the political end of Shiv Sena, the former Sena chief minister while accusing the BJP of displaying its ‘Hitler streak’, said time does not remain the same for everyone always.
