Mumbai: Addressing the annual Shiv Sena Dusshera rally from the confines of Swatantryaveer Sawarkar Smarak, Shivaji Park, Dadar, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday dared the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led opposition to topple the Sena led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government. Breathing fire and brimstone on his critics, he took swipes at Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut, actor Sameet Thakkar among others.

Taking a swipe at Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari for questioning MVA government’s refusal to unlock temples, the Sena president remarked that there is huge difference between the Hindutva espoused by late Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray and your Hindutva. Thackeray further reminded the Governor that had it not been for the late Sena chief, Mumbai would not have been saved. Taking an oblique swipe at the black cap symbolic of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) worn by the Governor, he sarcastically remarked “if there is any head underneath that black cap, think about it”.

Thackeray wanted to know where were the critics of his Hindutva were hiding when Babri masjid was pulled down. Further commenting he argued that the Hindutva espoused by the Sena was not outdated. On the issue of unlocking of the temples he said that he did not want a Hindu who was content at ringing temple bells, but one who could bash up terrorists. He added that questions were being raised on his Hindutva just because temples were not unlocked.

Commenting upon the arrest of actor Sameet Thakkar over Aurangzeb tweet, the Sena president sarcastically remarked “the tadpole just saw the glimpse of a tiger. We are cubs of the tiger. If you try to provoke us, you will regret it. The soil of Maharashtra has buried Aurangzeb.

Referring to the controversy ridden probe in the Sushant Singh Rajput case and scorn heaped on Mumbai police, Thackeray contended that despite trying Corona times Maharashtra was still progressing forward and hence attempts were being made to defame. He added that the Mumbai police was being labeled as good for nothing. Arguing that he was the head of the family for the Mumbai police, the Chief Minister stated that he would not tolerate any attempts to malign the image of the Mumbai police.

The Chief Minister stated he was proud of the Mumbai police which caught terrorist alive while taking on the bullets. Commenting upon the investigation into the drug angle in the Bollywood in the SSR case, Thackeray remarked that in Maharashtra it is the culture of having Tusli vrindavan in ones homes instead of hemp.

Taking a swipe at Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut for likening Mumbai to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK), Thackeray stated that the remarks are a failure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and not that of Maharashtra. He wanted to know as to why those who used cow urine and cow dung to gargle and spit at Sena, why are they now silent. Taking on PM Modi over his resolve to reintegrate PoK with India, he wanted to know as to what happened to that resolve. Lashing out at Kangana Ranaut, he remarked that you break bread here and then turn back and insult Maharashtra.

Daring the BJP led opposition to topple his MVA government, the Sena president stated that the Sena was not like the ant that got stuck into the lump of jiggery, but our ant knows how to sting back. Thackeray stated that whoever shall dare to cross our path, will pin him down, hoist the Guddhi and move on.

The Chief Minister contended that the Centre owes Rs 38,000 crore by way of revenue share from Goods and Services Tax (GST).  Thackeray stated that while the GST revenue share rightfully belongs to Maharashtra, the Centre is distributing the Covid-19 vaccine free of cost to other states. He added that if the GST has failed then bring back the old revenue system.
