Kendriya Vidyalaya’s get best institutional results with 99.23% pass percentage
Mumbai: Trivandrum region recorded the best results in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in the Class X examinations declared on July 15. Trivandrum board registered a passing percentage of 99.28%, with Chennai next with 98.95% and Bangalore with 98.25%. The Pune region comprising of Maharashtra, Goa, Daman & Diu and Dadra Nagar Haveli, scored the fourth best in the country by registering a pass percentage of 98.05%.
The cumulative results were only marginally better than last year’s results; the overall passing % of 91.46% was just 0.36 % over the last year’s results held in the pre-Covid times. The CBSE Class X exam schedule stayed unaffected in by the Covid-19 nationwide lockdown since exams got over by March 20. Girls scored 3.17% better than boys by registering a pass percentage of 93.31% while 90.14% of boys and 78.95% of transgenders passed the exams from the overall 18, 73,015 students who appeared for the exams from 20,387 schools.
Over 41,804 (about 2.23%) students scored over 95%, while 1, 84358 students (9.84% of the students) scored over 90% in the Class X exams. The Kendriya Vidyalaya’s (KV) logged in the best institutional-wise results with a pass percentage of 99.23% ,closely followed by the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya’s with 98.66% pass percentage and the Central Tibetan School (CTSA) administrated schools registered a pass percentage of 93.67%. The website of the CBSE crashed and many students complained of not being able to check their results. Students also complained about delayed results on SMS.
