Three Mumbai labourers killed in septic tank

Three labourers who were trapped while cleaning a septic tank, were brought out dead, the BMC Disaster Control said here on Monday.

The incident occurred around 12.30 pm when the trio was cleaning a septic tank in Ganeshwadi area of Govandi suburb, northeast Munbai.

Following a complaint, the Mumbai Fire Brigade rushed to the site and launched rescue a operation.

The labourers – tentatively suspected to have inhaled and died due to toxic fumes from the septic tank – were brought dead to the Shatabdi Hospital late this evening by the Mumbai Fire Brigade.

They are identified as: Vishwajeet Devnath, 32, Santosh Prabhakar Kalsekar, 45, and Govind Sangram Charotiya, 34.

The Govandi Police are making further investigation into the tragedy.-IANS news
