The Thane Civic body has requested private doctors to come forward as Covid warriors and them to curb continuous rise in coronavirus cases
Mumbai: It seems the fight of Dharavi from challenge to model has started gaining momentum in hotspots of Mumbai and its adjacent district. The 4T –strategy Tracing, Tracking, Testing and Treating implemented in Asia’s largest slum-Dharavi has changed the face of Dharavi and now the Thane Civic body plans to implement the same in the city.
On Monday the Thane civic body requested services of private doctors to be absorbed in the fight against coronavirus.
The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) after continuous rise in the cases of Covid patients both symptomatic and asymptomatic decided to involve the private doctors to control the outbreak of coronavirus in the city of lake.
Vipin Sharma, Commissioner of TMC issued the order said services of private doctors under Maharashtra Medical Council, Mumbai will be acquired to strengthen efforts to contain the outbreak.
This decision is taken following the Dharavi-model of 4Ts as Tracing, Tracking, Testing and Treating of residents a must in Thane. The authorities are involving private doctors so as the confidence of residents can boost and they may come forward.
Due to high number of patients Thane city is under strict lockdown till July 31.
