Tejashwi Yadav Slams CM Nitish Kumar After Businessman Vikram Jha Shot Dead in Patna

Patna: The brutal killing of a businessman in Bihar’s capital has reignited the political debate over the state’s deteriorating law and order situation. Vikram Jha, a grocery shop owner originally from Darbhanga and residing in Patna’s Ram Krishna Nagar area, was shot dead by an unidentified assailant on a motorcycle late Friday evening.

Jha was reportedly shot just outside his residence-cum-shop. Despite attempts to rush him to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries on the way. The attacker fled the scene immediately, and no robbery was reported, suggesting a targeted assault.

Patna East SP Parichay Kumar, while speaking to the media, confirmed that CCTV footage showed the shooter arriving alone on a bike and firing directly at Jha. “There’s no indication of theft or robbery. A murder case has been registered, and investigation is underway,” he said.

The incident has sparked political outrage, with RJD leader and Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav launching a scathing attack on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar via a post on social media platform X.

“Murder of businessman Vikram Jha by shooting in Patna! DK Tax transfer industry is the main reason for the chaotic situation in the state. Why is the unconscious Chief Minister silent? Who is responsible for the hundreds of murders happening daily? Bhrasta Bhoonja Party, answer,” Yadav posted, referring to Nitish Kumar’s alliance with the BJP-led NDA.

Yadav’s use of the phrase “Bhrasta Bhoonja Party” is a sharp jibe at the ruling BJP, accusing them of enabling corruption and lawlessness. The reference to a so-called “transfer industry” hints at alleged irregularities in bureaucratic transfers and postings in Bihar, which he claims have contributed to a breakdown in administrative efficiency.
