Social Media Crackdown: UP Police Arrest YouTuber Mohammed Amir for Abusive, Obscene Content

Moradabad: In a continuing crackdown on digital vulgarity and provocative online behaviour, Uttar Pradesh Police arrested YouTuber Mohammed Amir in Moradabad for allegedly creating and circulating abusive and obscene content while donning attire resembling that of Hindu saints. This arrest comes just days after influencers Mehak and Pari (Mehrul Nisa) were taken into custody in Sambhal for posting indecent videos online.

According to police reports, a complaint was filed by Aman Thakur at the Pakbada police station, accusing Amir of posting a video in which he wore clothes mimicking those of saints and used derogatory, abusive language intended to provoke and offend. An investigation confirmed that Amir had published multiple such videos on his popular YouTube channel, “Top Real Team (TRT)”, which boasts over 5 million subscribers. He also has a massive following of around five million on Instagram.

Police noted that Amir’s content not only violated decency standards but also had the potential to spread hatred and confusion in society. After verifying the complaint and reviewing his recent uploads, the police arrested Amir and placed him in custody. Further investigations are underway, with authorities scrutinizing his entire body of work to identify any more objectionable material.

The arrest is part of a broader movement by UP Police to enforce stricter control over online vulgarity, particularly as many content creators resort to provocative, abusive, or sexually explicit material in a bid to gain rapid popularity and increase follower counts.
