Ramdas Athawale Slams Opposition for Disrupting Parliament, Accuses Them of Wasting Public Money

New Delhi: Union Minister and Republican Party of India (A) chief Ramdas Athawale on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on the opposition parties, accusing them of deliberately disrupting parliamentary proceedings and misleading the public with “baseless allegations.”

Speaking to reporters, Athawale said, “The opposition’s business seems to be only to stall the functioning of the House, waste taxpayers’ money, and spread falsehoods. The Election Commission has invited them for a discussion, yet they are refusing to attend.”

Athawale singled out Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, alleging that he and other opposition members were obstructing the smooth running of Parliament on a daily basis. “By repeatedly disrupting proceedings, they are preventing important legislative work from being carried out and, in the process, wasting the hard-earned money of the people. We strongly oppose such behavior,” he asserted.

The minister’s remarks come amid an ongoing deadlock in Parliament, where repeated adjournments have stalled debates on key national issues. The BJP-led government has accused the INDIA bloc parties of avoiding meaningful debate, while the opposition has alleged that the government is evading questions and accountability.

Athawale’s statement adds to the escalating war of words between the treasury and opposition benches, as political temperatures rise ahead of upcoming elections.
