Railways has earned Rs. 18,542 crore from freight loading in the current financial year.
Railways Ministry said, it is 4.92 per cent higher than the 2019 earning from freight which was Rs. 17, 674 Crore and 75.93 per cent higher than the 2020.
The Ministry said, Railways has maintained the momentum of highest ever loading in consecutive nine months from September last year to May this year. It said, Coal sector has shown a sustained growth.
Railways has loaded more than 88 million tonnes Coal in 2021-22 which is a growth of 54.03 per cent compared to the last year 2020.
The Ministry said, a number of concessions and discounts are also being given in Indian Railways to make Railways Freight movement very attractive.
