PM Modi meets CMs from 15 states to discuss COVID-19 pandemic

New Delhi: Timely Decisions by the government helped contain the global pandemic of COVID-19 in the country to a large extent. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said this in his remark before the second day of virtual meeting with the State and Union Territories Chief Ministers to chalk out further roadmap to embolden nation’s fight against Corona Virus.

Mr. Modi is meeting with Chief Ministers from 15 states which are adversely affected and account for over 60 per cent of the COVID cases in the country including Maharashtra, Delhi and Tamil Nadu. He highlighted that the recovery rate in the country has been considerably high due to the early preparedness ensured by the government.

Prime Minister credited the high discipline observed by the common citizens in the country for achieving better containment results. He emphasised on the need to weed out the stigma attached with the infection. Emphasizing the importance of testing and tracing he urged States to work towards development of more testing centres. Mr. Modi also stressed on the need to effectively use Aarogya Setu App to widen the scale of contact tracing in the country.

Prime Minister exhorted States and UTs to work upon developing infrastructure to extend the facility of telemedicine to make health solutions accessible to larger number of people. He also called upon a greater concerted effort of all organisations including NGOs and private players to help India return on the track of normalisation.
