Srinagar: The Republic Day has an immense importance across the country and is celebrated enthusiastically by all the people of India with great pride. This year the Republic Day has its own added importance as India takes over as a year-long prestigious G20 presidency.
To commemorate the Republic Day on January 26, around 200 bikers along with prominent people from Lolab valley including SDM, Sogam flagged off a rally under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga campaign’ on January 24, Tuesday from the remote village, Chandigam in Lolab valley of Kupwara district in North Kashmir.
The biker’s aim was to raise awareness on the importance of India’s G20 presidency and the role of our freedom fighters in making our country the largest democratic republic in the world.
Hundreds of people from all walks of life from Lolab Valley including elected representatives of people, government officials, college students, teachers and youth participated in the Mega Motorcycle Rally with great zeal and enthusiasm. The motorcycle rally today covered most areas of Lolab valley.
“Overwhelmed to watch the response of the people of Lolab valley during the Motorcycle Rally to celebrate the national day. Certainly, the will of the people of Lolab valley and commitment of the government will manifest in Lolab becoming the centre of attraction not only for Kashmir but for the entire country in near future”, said Aizaz Ahmed, SDM, Sogam.
Over 200 motorcycles, cars and other vehicles participated in the rally raising patriotic slogans including ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’, ‘Long Live Our Republic’, ‘Har Ghar Lahrayenge Tiranga Hum’, ‘Tiranga Hamari Shaan Hai, Desh Ka Abhiman Hai’, the rally showed respect to the nation, the Indian Army and security forces who always remain ready to sacrifice their lives for peace in the country.
