Grid Station will benefit whole of Kupwara, says Showket Pandith

Srinagar: The Construction of the 315 MVA, 220/132 KV GIS grid substation at Phorupat, Wahipora Langate here has brought happiness to the people of the area.
The locals of this area said this was the long pending demand of the people of this particular area. This project is estimated to cost Rs 8,835.35 Lakhs. The funds for this project are available.
BDC Chairman Langate, Showket Pandith said this plan was submitted by former MLA Langate Engineer Rasheed and has been approved by the administration. Pandith said we are much thankful to former MLA and DC Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir, who has approved this major project in favour of the people of Kupwara.
This major sub-grid will provide better electricity to the people of Kupwara. He said the land has also been identified for the construction of this power station, adding that he is hopeful that the work on this station will begin sooner rather than later.
Meanwhile, the locals of the Pohru area have also expressed gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, for approval of this power project.Â
