More than 68 crore 75 lakh vaccine doses of Covid-19 have been administered in the country so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive. Over 25 lakh 23 thousand vaccine doses were administered to the eligible beneficiaries in the country during the last 24 hours. Union Health Ministry in a statement said that the country has reported 38 thousand 948 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. The country’s active caseload is currently at 4 lakh 4 thousand and 874. The active cases constitute 1.23 per cent of the total reported cases so far.
The Ministry said, a total of 43 thousand 903 patients also recovered from the infection during the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to more than three crore 21 lakh and 81 thousand. The recovery rate currently stands at 97.44 per cent.
The Ministry said, weekly positivity rate currently stands at 2.58 per cent which is less than three per cent for last 73 days while Daily positivity rate is reported to be at 2.76 per cent for the last 7 days. The Ministry said, testing capacity has been substantially ramped up and more than 53.14 crore tests for COVID-19 have been conducted in total. Yesterday more than 14.10 lakh tests were conducted.
