Over 212 crore 75 lakh vaccine doses have been administered so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive. Over 22 lakh 40 thousand doses were administered in the last 24 hours. The recovery rate is currently at 98.68 per cent. Over nine thousand people recovered in the last 24 hours. A total number of recoveries have reached over four crore 38 lakh 55 thousand.
Over six thousand new cases were recorded in the last 24 hours. India’s Active caseload currently stands at 59 thousand 210. Active cases stand at 0.13 per cent. The daily positivity rate is at 1.94 per cent and Weekly Positivity Rate is 2.51 per cent. Over 88 crore 64 lakh tests have been conducted so far. Over three lakh 18 thousand tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.
The Health Ministry today said that more than 201 crore 36 lakh vaccine doses have been provided to States and Union Territories so far through the Centre’s free-of-cost channel and through the direct state procurement category. It said, more than five crore 47 lakh balance and unutilised COVID vaccine doses are still available with the States and UTs to be administered.
As part of the Nationwide Vaccination Drive, the Centre has been supporting the States and Union Territories by providing them with COVID vaccines free of cost. In the new phase of the universalisation of the COVID-19 vaccination drive, the Centre procures and supplies free of cost 75 per cent of the vaccines being produced by the vaccine manufacturers in the country for States and UTs.
