Noida: The highly anticipated Noida International Airport, also known as Jewar Airport, is expected to commence operations by September 2025, according to a recent update from the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). The project is rapidly progressing, with CEO Dr Arun Veer Singh confirming its integration into a comprehensive connectivity network.
Once operational, the airport will be linked via the Yamuna Expressway, Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, and the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. It will also have direct connectivity to national railway corridors, marking a first-of-its-kind collaboration between Indian Railways and an airport infrastructure project.
As work advances, the airport is already having a ripple effect on real estate and industrial development in the surrounding areas. There has been a notable surge in demand for residential plots and group housing projects, especially from investors and future residents eyeing long-term growth potential. Additionally, nearby hubs such as the multi-modal logistics park, global film city, electronics manufacturing cluster, and a proposed semiconductor park are drawing significant private and public investment, further boosting the region’s prospects of becoming a major economic corridor.
In tandem with these developments, YEIDA has begun groundwork for creating three new sectors—Sectors 5, 8, and 9—under the Master Plan 2041. These new sectors will cater to residential, industrial, institutional, group housing, and commercial development, offering a well-rounded urban expansion framework.
The land acquisition process for these sectors has already commenced. Land will be obtained from farmers through a consent-based model, involving villages such as Bhikanpur, Kallupura, Ranhera, Mudharah, Dayorar, Dhansia, and Veerampur. A list of the selected villages has been released, and discussions with stakeholders are underway.
