Nitish Kumar Will Return as CM, Says Son Nishant; Slams Tejashwi and Congress Over Election Tactics

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s son, Nishant Kumar, issued a strong statement on Monday ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, asserting that his father will continue to serve as the state’s Chief Minister.

Responding to RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s claim that Nitish Kumar was copying his announcements, Nishant hit back, saying, “Has Nitish Kumar been copying him for 20 years? He has worked in every field — health, education, and electricity. He announced free 125 units of electricity, gave reservations, and conducted a caste census. He has been doing good work continuously for two decades.”

Nishant Kumar further declared, “After the Bihar Assembly election 2025, my father will once again lead the state as the Chief Minister.”

When asked about Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ against the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists, Nishant refrained from commenting directly, stating that the matter falls under the jurisdiction of the Election Commission of India (ECI).

Addressing concerns over Nitish Kumar’s health, Nishant dismissed speculation, asserting, “His health is absolutely fine.”

Union Minister Giriraj Singh also weighed in, alleging that Congress was employing a political strategy similar to tactics seen in Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh elections. Singh stated, “The way Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge got forms filled with false promises during elections in other states, the same trick is being adopted in Begusarai now.”

Singh further mocked Congress leaders, saying, “If there is not a single penny in their pocket, should they at least file an affidavit promising that if their government comes to power, they will give money to everyone?”

The Union Minister urged the district administration to take strict action against those engaged in fraudulent activities, warning that failure to do so could lead to social backlash. He alleged that RJD workers were indulging in the politics of temptation, claiming there is concrete evidence of malpractice.
