In their letter, families stressed that the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) and Flight Data Recorder (FDR), commonly referred to as black boxes, hold the key to understanding what led to the crash.
They described the data as essential to uncovering the sequence of events and determining whether technical failure or other factors were responsible. While seeking public disclosure, they also suggested that the findings should at least be shared directly with affected families if full release is not possible.

The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner operated by Air India crashed shortly after takeoff from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in June last year.
