Governments Step In as Lakhs Prepare for Crucial Re-Examination
With lakhs of aspirants preparing for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination on June 21, multiple state governments have unveiled special transport measures to ensure students can reach their examination centres without facing travel-related hurdles.
The support comes after the National Testing Agency ordered a re-test following the cancellation of the earlier examination amid allegations of question paper leaks and irregularities.
Travel Costs Removed for Thousands of Candidates
Recognising the financial and logistical challenges faced by students, several states have introduced free transportation facilities and travel concessions.
The initiatives are designed to reduce last-minute stress, especially for candidates travelling long distances to examination centres during the summer season.
Mumbai Local Services to Run Without Disruptions
In a major relief for students in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, railway authorities have decided against carrying out the routine mega block on suburban railway lines on examination day.
Both Western and Central Railway services are expected to operate normally, allowing candidates to travel conveniently across the city and neighbouring regions.
