Maharashtra NCP President Sunil Tatkare on Monday defended the party’s internal organisational election, asserting that the process was conducted strictly in accordance with the Nationalist Congress Party’s constitution and was legally valid.
Responding to questions over the party’s internal developments, Tatkare said the election held on February 26, 2026, followed all constitutional procedures. He added that the party would seek legal advice if required before deciding its future course of action.”We issued the agenda in strict accordance with the NCP’s constitution, and in my view, the election held on February 26, 2026, was entirely proper and valid. If the need arises, we will seek legal advice and determine our future course of action,” Tatkare said.
Dismissing speculation about any internal discord, the senior NCP leader maintained that the organisation remains united and that all key decisions are taken collectively after detailed discussions among party leaders.
Tatkare said the party leadership has been reviewing several organisational issues, including the appointment of Booth Level Agents (BLAs), through regular consultations with office bearers and legislators.”Everything within the party is fine. We have held detailed discussions on various issues, such as the appointment of BLAs; we are deliberating on all these matters together in depth,” he said.
He further revealed that National President Sunita Pawar and he recently held an extensive meeting with district presidents, office bearers and MLAs to review organisational matters and strengthen the party’s preparations.”Just recently, on the 9th, our National President Sunita Pawar and I held extensive discussions with our district presidents, office bearers, and MLAs. Consequently, everything is running very smoothly. We always discuss matters collectively within the party before moving forward,” Tatkare added.
His remarks come amid political attention surrounding the party’s organisational affairs, with Tatkare reiterating that the NCP remains united and committed to resolving all issues through internal consultations and constitutional processes.
