National Unity Day celebrations at 57 Battalion, Station Headquarters, Border Security Force, Kupwara

Srinagar: To mark the occasion of birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a motorcycle rally was organised on Sunday by the 57 Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF), under command of Station Headquarters (SHQ) BSF Kupwara.

The rally was flagged off by Anil Kumar Verma, Commandant (Ops) SHQ BSF Kupwara and Surendra Mishra, Commandant 57 Battalion, BSF from headquarter (HQr) 57 Battalion, Handwara. Officers of the 57 Battalion, BSF and 140 Battalion, BSF were present during the occasion.

The rally traversed through Handwara, Kulangam, Kupwara city area, Trehgam, Kralpura, Melyal and finally reached FDL Kachama of 57 Battalion, BSF at 1120 hrs, covering a distance of about 50 km.

Fourteen Motor cycles of the BSF participated in the rally and it was led by A K Verma, Commandant (Ops) and Dr. K Pramanik, AC (MO), 57 Battalion, BSF.

The event helped in spreading the message of brotherhood, peace & patriotism on the occasion of National Unity Day amongst the local population.

The BSF is mostly deployed along the Line of Control (LoC) in the region and is committed towards spreading peace, harmony and feeling of security in the area, besides guarding the LoC. The local population of district Kupwara appreciated the work done and sacrifices made by BSF in spreading peace, harmony and patriotism in the region.
