Narcotic worth Rs 30 crore seized in sensitive border town of Uri in North Kashmir

Srinagar: In a joint operation by the Forces in an operation on Sunday morning recovered a 30 kgs of contraband substance and busted a drug module along Line of Control (LoC) in bordering town of Uri in North Kashmir. 

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Baramulla said in a presser, “Security forces witnessed some suspicious movement along with LOC and it was found that some contraband substance which are most likely drugs had been dumped. The drug peddlers were observing the movement of the Indian troops and ran away from there after dropping their contraband at the spot.”

“The drugs consignment has been recovered by the Jawans of the Indian Army and the same has been handed over to us and the legal proceedings of the matter have been initiated.”

“Around 25 to 30 kg of contraband that has been recovered.  The troops are on the alert and the movement of the troops is going on along the LOC,” he added.
