The power cut in Mumbai has been restored in many parts of the city, however, there are few places where power needs to be restored. “The power supply (in Mumbai) has been restored substantially, out of 2000 MW which went off, about 1900 MW has been restored, the remaining will be restored soon. The national grid is fine, the problem happened in some parts of the state grid”, said Union Power Minister RK Singh
The Union Ministry will send a team from central authority to look into this matter, “we are sending a team from the Central Authority to Mumbai to sit down with the state transmission authority and find out where the problem was and how it started. There will be a discussion on the steps to be taken so it doesn’t happen again,” added Union Power Minister.
Even Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has said that they will be probing this matter, he also instructed Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal to make alternate arrangements so that power supply to hospitals is intact, the statement said.

Train services in Mumbai were restored after a few hours of power cut. Power supply to all essential services in Mumbai, Mumbai Suburbs, Kalyan, Thane, Palghar and New Mumbai has been restored.
