Mumbai: About 225 civil society representatives from across the country have decided to actively support Bharat Jodo Yatra. Representatives of all these organizations including farmers, labourers and women will participate in Bharat Jodo Yatra in large numbers. Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President Nana Patole claimed that Bharat Jodo Yatra has become a mass movement due to everyone’s participation and we welcome their (civil society’s) decision.

A meeting of civil society representatives was held at the Islam Gymkhana in Mumbai on Sunday. In this meeting, the great freedom fighter B. G. Parikh, Yogendra Yadav, Medha Patkar, Tushar Gandhi, Pratibha Shinde, Subhash Ware, Varsha Deshpande, Sushilatai Morale, Feroze Mithiborwala, Lalit Babar, Sandesh Bhandare, Ulka Mahajan, MPCC President Nana Patole, Legislature Congress Party Leader Balasaheb Thorat, State Vice President Ex. Speaking on the occasion, Congress state president Nana Patole said that since the BJP government came to power in the country, democracy and the constitution of the country is in a crisis. Along with this, social harmony and fraternity in the country was destroyed and an atmosphere of hatred was consciously created.

Under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, Bharat Jodo Yatra has been taken from Kanyakumari to Kashmir against inflation, unemployment, economic disparity. Citizens from all walks of life are participating in this yatra in huge numbers. The Bharat Jodo Yatra has now become a mass movement. Nana Patole said that all the people who are on the side of social justice who respect democracy and constitution should participate in the yatra.

Speaking on the occasion, the representative of the civil society said that the Congress government was working with everyone. Civil society, social organizations were being interacted with. While preparing laws, various welfare schemes were discussed comprehensively. But since the BJP government came to power eight years ago, the constitution, democracy, social organization, civil society, literature, and artists are being suppressed.

Rahul Gandhi’s march against this is a decisive fight against this dictatorship. All the delegates said that they all will participate in this with their colleagues in large numbers.
