MP Gaurav Gogoi Demands Transparency from Govt in Lok Sabha, Says ‘Truth Must Come Out on Operation Sindoor’

New Delhi: As the Lok Sabha debate on Operation Sindoor gained momentum on Monday, Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi asserted that the government can no longer hide behind rhetoric and must present the truth regarding the Pahalgam terror attack and India’s retaliatory cross-border strikes.

Speaking to reporters outside Parliament, Gogoi confirmed that the Congress party had submitted a list of speakers to the Speaker’s Office and would ensure that multiple voices from the Opposition were heard during the debate. “We will give a list of our speakers in the Speaker’s Office. Today, the government will have to tell the truth,” he said, underlining the party’s stance on holding the government accountable for what it calls a serious security lapse.

Responding to former Union Minister P. Chidambaram’s controversial remark that there was “no conclusive proof” the Pahalgam attackers infiltrated from Pakistan, Gogoi said, “Chidambaram ji will be able to give more information on this. He speaks with experience, and the details he offers must be examined seriously, not dismissed politically.”

The Congress MP also commented on a petition submitted in the Lok Sabha concerning Justice Varma, which has sparked public and political debate. “Our MPs have signed the petition brought in the Lok Sabha. In the context of the petition against Justice Varma, several questions have been raised in the media, particularly regarding the former Vice-President. We believe it’s important to deliberate on the government’s position on this issue as well,” Gogoi said.
