MoH&FW organises Mega Health Mela camp at GDC Handwara

Srinagar: Following the directions of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoH&FW), Government of India, the Department of Health & Medical Block Handwara on Thursday organized a day-long Mega Health Mela cum Awareness Programme at Government Degree College, Handwara.

The mega camp was inaugurated by DDC chairman Kupwara Irfan Sultan Panditpuri along with Municipal committee chairman Handwara Masroor Banday, DDC Rajwar, Mir Sulaiman, Superintendent District Hospital Handwara Dr Nissar Ahmad, Block Medical Officer (BMO) Handwara, ASHAs, Anganwadi Workers, Staff from Health Department and students of GDC Handwara, students from various schools were present on the occasion.

While talking to our reporters BDC Chairman Kupwara said that the meal was organized to educate the general public and to generate mass awareness about the various health schemes including online registration of Ayushman Bharat (Golden Cards), NCD screening, Mental Health activities like yoga and meditation. On this occasion, different stalls were put up by the health department and other allied departments viz AYUSH Department, One Stop Centre, ICPS, e-Sanjeevani, Ayushman Bharat, RBSK Screening and general health check-up.

While speaking on the occasion Block Medical officer Handwara advised the young participants to concentrate on their studies so that they can actively participate in the nation-building, and asked them to keep themselves away from the drug menace and urged them to support the district police to eradicate the menace of drugs from the district to become the drug-free district.
