“Modi Is Just a Show, Not a Real Problem”: Rahul Gandhi Targets PM at Delhi Rally

New Delhi: Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, on Friday launched a sharp personal attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling him “just a show” inflated by the media and asserting that Modi is not the core issue in Indian politics.

Addressing a large gathering of Congress workers during the OBC Bhaagidari Nyay Sammelan at Talkatora Stadium in Delhi, Gandhi engaged the crowd in an interactive session. “Rajneeti mein sabse badi samasya kya hai?” he asked the audience. A voice from the crowd shouted, “Narendra Modi!”

Gandhi chuckled and responded, “Narendra Modi koi badi problem nahi hai,” adding in Hindi, “Apne apne sir pe chadha rakha hai, media walon ne iska gubbara bana rakha hai.”
(Translation: “You’ve put him on a pedestal. The media has inflated his image like a balloon.”)

He went on to say, “I hadn’t met him before. But now, after meeting him two-three times, I’ve realised he’s just a show. There’s no substance.”

Gandhi’s remarks came on the day Prime Minister Narendra Modi became the second longest-serving PM in India’s history in consecutive terms, surpassing Indira Gandhi’s tenure. However, Gandhi dismissed the significance of Modi’s duration in power, saying that the BJP’s success is more a result of narrative control and media amplification than actual governance.
