Civic body changes Vegetable and fruit markets
Thane: In the first of its kind amongst the civic bodies in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), the Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation (MBMC) in a bid to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the twin cities, has launched a home delivery app called ‘MBMC home delivery’ which is available in Google play store.
On Friday seven new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from the twin-city taking the cumulative positive cases tally to 59. Three cases are from Bhayander, three from Mira Road and one from Kashigaon.

To give more details about this app, there are two options for the buyer and the seller as well. A buyer can purchase groceries, dairy products and medicines and those who want to sell can register themselves through the App. Once the ordered is placed the consignment will be delivered at ones doorstep.
Meanwhile, MBMC municipal commissioner Chandrakant Dange has revised the timings of vegetable, fruit and meat market. As per the order from MBMC, the new timings are:
Meat shops to open from April 18 to April 20 from Morning 9 am to Evening 5 pm.
Grocery shops (D Mart, Star Bazar, Big Bazar), dairy shops and bakery will remain open from Morning 9 am to Evening 5 pm.
Vegetable and fruit market will be closed from April 18 to April 21
Medical stores shall remain open as they were before during the lockdown period. – By: Salman Khan
