Energy Minister Dr Nitin Raut congratulates Dinesh Waghmare
Mumbai: Chairman and Managing Director of Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Co.(MAHATRANSCO) Dinesh Waghmare recently received the prestigious Greentech Leading Director Award 2021. Energy Minister Dr Nitin Raut has congratulated Waghmare for this achievement.
This yearly award is bestowed to Waghmare, also Principal Secretary of Energy Department, for innovative ventures and remarkable performances and also relentlessly working for the perpetual and continuous progress of the company.
The Greentech Leading Director Award – 2021 by New Delhi based Greentech Foundation, was delivered to Waghmare at the hands of Dr Farooq Abdullah, former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and Member of Parliament. This award was conferred in the Greentech Leading Director Conclave held at Sonmarg in Jammu and Kashmir.
Miya Altaf Ahmed, former minister of Environment and Forests, Jammu and Kashmir, Kamleshwar Sharan, Chairman and Chief Executive officer of Greentech Foundation, Sugat Game, Executive Director (Human Resources) (i/c) of Mahatransco and Naseer Quadri, Chief Engineer, Vashi Zone were present at the occasion.
The Mahatransco has transmitted an unprecedented supply of 25,800 MW which is a record of its own. Electrical supply which was disrupted due to Nisarg and Tauktae cyclones was restored on a war footing level in a record short time.
On 12th October 2020, the electricity was restored in record time which was affected by partial grid failure. During that period, uninterrupted electric supply was provided to the Covid hospitals, quarantine wards, vaccination centres, oxygen and generation plants.
The Mahatransco has always adopted modern technology. Earlier, it received Scotch Award for digitization of substations and other innovative programs. More and more automated projects are being implemented in Mahatransco with the use of modern technology.
Waghmare took initiative for using drones for rapid maintenance and repair works of the lines. It is using GIS, Modular GIS, STLS Conductor in many projects. It has helped the projects to get completed in time. Many social welfare activities are undertaken by using CSR Funds especially to fight against Covid-19.
Under the capable guidance of Waghmare, operation and maintenance projects of the State Load Transmission Center were completed in time. He at present is also performing the duties of Principal Secretary of Energy Department.
