India’s cumulative COVID – 19 vaccination coverage crosses 110 crores 79 lakh; States and UTs have more than 18cr vaccine dose unutilized

Over 110 crore 79 lakh COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive. More than 53 lakh 81 thousand vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, over 12 thousand new COVID-19 cases were reported in the country in the last 24 hours while more than 13 thousand people recovered. 501 people lost their lives during the period.

Union Health Ministry said, the COVID recovery rate in the country now stands at 98.26 percent which is highest since March last year. India’s Active caseload stands at over one lakh 37 thousand which is the lowest in 267 days.

Meanwhile, more than 121 crore vaccine doses have been provided to States and Union Territories so far. The vaccines have been given through the Central Government free of cost channel and direct state procurement category. The Health Ministry said, more than 18 crore four lakh balance and unutilized COVID vaccine doses are still available with the States and UTs. The Ministry said the Centre is committed to accelerating the pace and expanding the scope of COVID-19 vaccination throughout the country.
