Srinagar: In continuation with its efforts to promote the habit of reading in kids of Lolab valley in Kupwara district of North Kashmir, Indian Army in collaboration with the NGO, Share A Book India Association and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) distributed books to seven government and private schools in Lolab valley to facilitate them for setting up of libraries at respective schools.
The books of various subjects like Science, History, General Knowledge, Dictionary and Story Books published both in English and Urdu language will provide an opportunity to kids to increase their knowledge and learning beyond the school curriculum.
Indian Army with Share A Book, India Association, HPCL and many other NGOs will work upon this noble cause in times to come to enable each child to read, imagine and grow to her or his fullest potential. It is our determination to revolutionize education through the process of reading, as we believe that it is the only instrument, which can make learning easier for children, improve the quality of education, reduce student dropout rates, as well as fight social evils like child labour, child marriage and also open new avenues to the underprivileged children of Lolab.
The teachers and staff of the schools were very thankful for this kind gesture and are committed to utilise this opportunity to benefit the young students who actually deserve.
