Indian Army celebrates World Science Day in government schools in Mawar valley

Srinagar: The Indian Army on Wednesday organised an inter school debate competition for the students of Mawar valley to celebrate the World Science Day on Wednesday. The competition was held to create an awareness about the importance of science in our day-to-day life.

The students of Government Middle School, Lawoosa and Government Upper Primary School, Chak participated in the debate on the topic, ‘Are scientific inventions a boon or bane for the present generation’. 

Eight students participated and spoke on their views ‘for and against’ the topic and the same was judged by a jury of three teachers where the Government Upper Primary School was adjudged as the winner. 

The students also spoke about various known personalities of India and their contribution in the field of science. The debate was a learning discussion for the audience which mainly consisted of the young students from these schools.

World Science Day was started as a way of opening up the world of scientific research and discovery to engage everybody in current scientific issues and developments — like artificial intelligence or renewable energy.
