Mumbai: A 22-year-old student of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay died by suicide after jumping from a hostel building in the early hours of Saturday. The incident reportedly occurred around 2:30 AM.
Following the fall, the student was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival. The deceased was a resident of Delhi.
Mumbai Police stated, “The police have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) in this regard at Powai Police Station and are investigating the case.”
Further details about the student or the possible motive have not been disclosed as the investigation remains ongoing.
