A disturbing incident of vandalism unfolded in a tea shop in Gurugram, Haryana, allegedly triggered by a billing dispute of ₹9. According to reports, a group of men caused havoc in the shop after the shopkeeper objected to receiving ₹9 less than the bill amount. The incident, captured on CCTV, has sparked outrage on social media platforms, prompting the Office of the Chief Minister to seek information about the viral video.
The chaos ensued at a tea shop situated in the Palam Vihar Thana area, where a group of youths had ordered tea without any initial issue. However, tensions arose when it was time to settle the bill. The bill amounted to Rs. 45 for three teas, calculated at Rs. 15 per tea. However, the customers insisted that the tea should cost Rs. 12 each, reducing the total bill to Rs. 36.
Despite efforts by Sahil, the shop employee, to clarify the billing discrepancy, the customers remained adamant. The situation escalated into a heated argument and eventually turned violent. Subsequently, three additional individuals joined the fray, leading to widespread vandalism within the shop premises.
The entire episode of vandalism was captured on the shop’s CCTV cameras, vividly depicting the destruction caused by the group of young men. The assailants broke chairs and wreaked havoc, leaving a trail of destruction behind.
Following the incident, a formal complaint was lodged at the Palam Vihar police station. Consequently, the police registered a First Information Report (FIR) and initiated an investigation into the matter. Meanwhile, the CCTV footage documenting the vandalism has circulated widely on social media platforms, drawing attention to the alarming incident.
In response to the escalating concerns, the Office of the Chief Minister of Haryana has intervened, seeking comprehensive information about the viral vandalism videos.
