Frustrated with BJP, Mohan Delkar commits suicide?

Mumbai: Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) general secretary, Sachin Sawant on Wednesday alleged that Dadra and Nagar Haveli MP, Mohan Delkar was subjected to harassment which provoked him to take the extreme step of committing suicide.

He said, Delkar had spoken about his ordeal through a video message and also in the Parliament of being pressurised and how he was subjected to severe harassment since last one and a half year.

“He (Delkar) had taken names of some of the big leaders in his video message. In his suicide note, he had mentioned the name the of former Gujarat minister and administrator of Dadra-Nagar Haveli, Praful Patel”, Sawant alleged.

From this suicide note it is clear that Delkar ended his life after undergoing harassment.

The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) Government in the state should probe the matter thoroughly to give justice to the family of Delkar, Sawant who is also the spokesperson of MPCC made this demand to home minister Anil Deshmukh.

Sawant disclosed that Deshmukh has assured the Congress delegation of probing the role of BJP in Delkar’s suicide.

Sawant while talking to reporters also alleged that Delkar was implicated in false cases. Besides, his supporters were also harassed. Apart from this, in his video message, he had expressed his ordeal by naming some bureaucrats, police, investigative agencies and goons for the harassment which he faced.

On being asked why he was being harassed, Delkar was told that it was ordered from top, Sawant said.

He further said, Delkar was going to tender his resignation in the Lok Sabha and explain his plight.  In last Parliament session, he had expressed the ordeal, Sawant claimed.
