Srinagar: Border Security Force (BSF) organized a free medical camp at Government New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC), Nowgam Mawer here on Wednesday.
The programme was inaugurated by Commanding Officer (CO) of 91Bn BSF Mohammad Israil, in the presence of CMO (OG) Dr. Alok Singh Rangkoli and other officers and medical staff. Dr. Aijaz Ahmad Bhat, BMS, Dr. Rameez Ahmad, Dental Surgeon, Dr. Shabir Ahmad, General Physician, Dr. Sajad Geelani, Dr. Shabnum from district hospital Handwara were also present there to examine the patients. The camp witnessed an overwhelming response from the locals.
Speaking on the occasion, CO Mohammad Israil said that the BSF deployed on the border is always ready to give necessary assistance to the people of these areas. He later thanked all the medical staff, media persons, village head and other persons who played the role for the successful medical camp.
At the medical camp, all necessary assistance to specially challenged children was also given. Many patients benefitted from this medical camp and free medicines were distributed to the needy border population.
During the program all the village heads (Sarpanchs & Panchs, Numbardar and other respected citizens) were present who graced the occasion.
Sarpanch Nowgam Nayeem U Rehman and Sarpanch Patwari Nazir Ahmad thanked BSF 91 Battalion for organising such a program in these difficult times and said they (BSF) is always providing the helping hand to the people of the area.
