The Election Commission has ordered Chief Electoral Officer of Telangana to file FIR against BJP MLA T Raja Singh for his objectionable remarks which is in violation of Model Code of Conduct. Earlier, the Commission had issued notice to the MLA for allegedly threatening people in a video to vote for his party in Uttar Pradesh.
In an order this evening, the Poll Body deplored the impunged statements and censured him for the violation. The Commission barred him from holding any public meetings, processions, roadshows, interviews and public utterences in connection with ongoing polls for 72 hours. It will be applicable from 6 PM today.
The Commission had asked him to respond to its showcause notice till 1 PM today, but he failed to respond to the Commission notice within stipulated time.
