The much-awaited film Dhurandhar The Revenge has taken the box office by storm, delivering a massive opening that has stunned trade analysts and fans alike.
Massive Opening Beats Expectations
The film was initially expected to open in the range of ₹60–70 crore on its first day. However, after a strong paid preview collection of ₹43 crore on Wednesday, the film exceeded all expectations by crossing the ₹100 crore mark on its opening day itself.
Day 1 Collection Details
According to trade estimates, the film collected a whopping ₹102.55 crore (all languages) on Day 1. Including previews, the total collection now stands at an impressive ₹145.55 crore worldwide, making it one of the biggest openings in recent times.
Hindi Version Leads the Charge
The majority of the film’s earnings came from its Hindi version, which dominated the box office. The South Indian dubbed versions, however, recorded comparatively lower numbers:
- Telugu: ₹2.12 crore
- Tamil: ₹1.16 crore
- Kannada: ₹8 lakh
- Malayalam: ₹9 lakh
Already a Profitable Venture?
Reports suggest that both parts of the franchise were made on a combined budget of around ₹280 crore. With the first part already earning over ₹800 crore, the sequel’s strong opening has further boosted the franchise’s overall profitability.
Box Office Trend Ahead
With such a record-breaking start, the film is expected to continue its strong run over the weekend. Trade experts believe that if the momentum continues, it could soon enter the ₹300–400 crore club within its first few days.
