A recent set of photographs featuring Chief Minister Eknath Shinde alongside popular YouTuber and Big Boss OTT winner, Elvish Yadav, has sparked a firestorm of questions about potential links between the drug underworld, law enforcement, and political leaders. The photos quickly went viral, leaving the public concerned and demanding answers.
Elvish Yadav is currently facing allegations of using snake venom as a psychotropic substance at his rave parties in Noida, which he vehemently denies. The controversy has put a spotlight on his connections with political figures, particularly in light of recent comments by Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut.
Sanjay Raut accused an MP of accompanying an accused individual in a drug case to the Chief Minister’s residence, raising questions about their association. He further questioned whether the Chief Minister’s family might have any involvement in the drug trade, suggesting that he could provide information on the drug habits of some of the Chief Minister’s political associates.
In response to these allegations, state Home Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis strongly defended the government, stating that such claims were being made “out of frustration.” Fadnavis assured the public that strict actions would be taken against anyone involved in the drug trade, including immediate dismissal from service for any police officers implicated.
Fadnavis explained that celebrities from various fields frequently visit Varsha, the Chief Minister’s residence, during the Ganpati festival, emphasizing that Elvish Yadav was merely a celebrity at the time of his visit and not a defendant in any criminal case. He cautioned against targeting political leaders over such incidents, highlighting the potential consequences for many leaders across Maharashtra if such a precedent were set.
Regarding Raut’s accusations, Fadnavis emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing the issue of drug-related activities and promised that all legal measures against those involved in the drug trade would be explored and strictly enforced.
