CBI summons former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh for questioning on April 14

Central Bureau of Investigation, CBI has summoned former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh for questioning on Wednesday in corruption allegations against him.

The Agency had registered a preliminary enquiry against Anil Deshmukh who resigned over corruption allegations. The preliminary enquiry was registered on the instructions of Bombay High Court, which passed an order in this regard. The High Court had ordered the CBI to hold preliminary enquiry into former Mumbai police chief Param Bir Singh’s allegations against Anil Deshmukh running an extortion wing.

CBI had recorded the statements of Deshmukh’s two personal assistants yesterday in Mumbai.
