Mumbai: Lok Sabha Member of Parliament from Hatkanangale constituency Dhairyasheel Mane has been appointed as the chief of the expert committee concerned with the writ petition in apex court on the Maharashtra- Karnataka border dispute. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde congratulated him by giving a floral bouquet at the Sahyadri guest house late on Tuesday night.
Members of this expert committee include advocate Ram Apte, Dinesh Aulkar, Dr RV Patil as special coordinator, principal secretary of law and Justice department is also included as coordinator and the secretary of the department looking into the matter of border dispute is the member secretary of this committee.
Hatkanangale Lok Sabha constituency falls in Kolhapur district. The district shares borders with the contentious, disputed border region of Belgaum in neighbouring state of Karnataka. The contentious border dispute has once again flared-up, pitting both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ruled states against each other. Following the split in the Shiv Sena, Dhairyasheel Mane has joined the Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena (BSS) faction led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
