In a scathing critique, BJP MLA Nitesh Rane unleashed verbal salvos at Shiv Sena leaders Sanjay Raut and Aaditya Thackeray on Wednesday, questioning their consistent predictions of the Maharashtra government’s downfall since its inception. Despite their ominous forecasts, the coalition government continues to operate smoothly, defying expectations.
Addressing the media outside the legislative assembly during the budget session, Nitesh Rane dismissed the Shiv Sena leaders’ predictions, stating, “Maharashtra government is not a Vada pav stall that you will move it from here to there, or down its shutter.” He highlighted the endurance of the coalition government, emphasizing that despite Raut and Thackeray’s persistent declarations, the government remains intact and functional.
Rane took particular aim at Sanjay Raut’s rhetoric, describing it as monotonous and repetitive. “Since the coalition government came to power, Sanjay Raut and Aaditya Thackeray have been saying that the government will fall even before it was formed,” he remarked, underlining the endurance of the government despite their assertions.
Refuting Aditya Thackeray’s earlier predictions of the government’s imminent collapse, Rane asserted, “Aditya Thackeray had said that this government will not last till December. But now we have reached March and our term has also ended.” He expressed confidence in the BJP’s return to power in 2024, emphasizing the resilience of the government despite the Shiv Sena leaders’ prognostications.
Responding to Sanjay Raut’s criticism of nepotism, Rane countered by highlighting the longstanding alliance between Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Union Minister Amit Shah on the subject of Hindutva. He accused Uddhav Thackeray of failing to maintain the relationship established by his father, Balasaheb Thackeray, and Modi, asserting that such comparisons are unwarranted.
As political tensions continue to simmer in Maharashtra, Rane’s remarks underscore the ongoing discord within the coalition government and the BJP’s determination to challenge the Shiv Sena’s leadership.
