Dhirendra Shastri, famously known as ‘Bagheshwar Dham Sarkar,’ is gearing up to host a three-day “divine darbar” in Pune’s Sangamwadi, commencing on Monday, November 20.
This event, organized by BJP leaders Jagdish and Yogesh Mulik, is set to witness the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil as chief guests.
However, the upcoming gathering has sparked dissent from NCP’s Sudarshan Jagdale, a prominent figure within the Ajit Pawar faction. Expressing strong disapproval on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Jagdale criticized the event, stating, “Such ‘bhondu (fraud)’ babas have no place in the land of Saint Tukaram (sic),” accompanied by the hashtag #GoBackBageshwarBaba.
Adding to the controversy, Dhirendra Shastri recently voiced his support for Maratha reservation during an event in Chatrapati Sambhajinagar. “Marathas have made significant contributions to the country’s freedom struggle, evident from history. Hence, they deserve reservation. The government should engage in discussions and ensure the necessary reservations,” he emphasized.
As tensions rise and opinions clash ahead of the ‘divine darbar,’ the event’s controversial nature intensifies, drawing attention and controversy within political circles in Pune.
