Assembly polls: PM Modi appeals to people to ‘vote in record numbers’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed the voters to come forward for voting wherein the voting process is underway. In a tweet today, Mr. Modi said, elections are taking place in Assam, Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal. The Prime Minister said, he requests the people in these places to vote in record numbers, particularly the young voters.

Meanwhile, Senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit West Bengal today to take part in party campaign. This will be his third visit to the state within six days. Mr Modi will be addressing two rallies, at Rasmela ground in Coochbehar and at Dumurjola in Howrah. Both constituencies will go for polls in the fourth phase on 10th of this month.

Union minister Smriti Irani, actor Mithun Chakraborty and other star campaigners of the party will be attending roadshows and rallies in favour of BJP candidates across different districts.

Trinamool Congress leader and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will also be campaigning in Coochbehar today. She is scheduled to address two rallies at Mathabhanga and Mekhligunje apart from another public meeting at Kalchini in Alipurduar. Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan will be doing multiple roadshows in support of TMC candidates.

On the other hand, Pradesh Congress president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury is scheduled to address three rallies in Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar and Murshidabad while Sanyukta Morcha leader Abbas Siddiqui of the ISF will attend a rally in North 24 Parganas this afternoon.
