In a series of tweets during the day on Sunday, rebel Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar stated that there was nothing to worry about, urging patience, he argued that he was very much with the NCP and that Saheb (NCP president Sharad Pawar) was his leader. He further contended that the BJP-NCP alliance shall provide stable government in Maharashtra for the next five years.
At the same time Pawar junior did not forget to tweet his thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah and other BJP union minister’s. All this comes at a time when state NCP president Jayant Patil and senior NCP leader Dilip Walse-Patil and other NCP leaders were desperately trying to woo Ajit Pawar back to the party fold. His nephew Rohit Pawar took to Facebook and made an emotional appeal to his estranged uncle to come back to party fold.
In one tweet, the rebel NCP leader tweets “there is absolutely no need to worry, all is well. However, a little patience is required. Thank you very much for all your support”.
In an another tweet Ajit Pawar says “I am in the NCP and shall always be in the NCP and @PawarSpeaks Saheb is our leader. Our BJP-NCP alliance shall provide a stable government in Maharashtra for the next five years which will work sincerely for the welfare of the state and its people.”
Speaking to newspersons later in the day, former Mumbai BJP president Ashish Shelar exuded confidence that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has the support of over 170 MLAs and that the government will prove its majority. He further went on to add that with Fadnavis and Pawar taking oath there is a sense of happiness and positivity amongst people.
Commenting upon the SC issuing notice to Centre, Maharashtra government over Congress-NCP-Shiv Sena’s plea, he remarked “after going through the Supreme Court order, one thing has come up very clearly that Congress-NCP-Shiv Sena’s demand has not been accepted by SC. They have fallen flat on their face. He further added “all lawyers of the Congress-NCP-Shiv Sena were pleading to Supreme Court that floor test needs to be done today. After seeing the proceeding and the order it has been established that Supreme Court has not come to that conclusion, their request has been rejected”.
