Veteran India batter Ajinkya Rahane has officially brought the curtain down on his international cricket career, announcing his retirement through an emotional video message shared on social media. The 38-year-old, known for his calm temperament and memorable performances in overseas conditions, said the decision came after carefully reflecting on his journey in the game.

In his farewell message, Rahane thanked everyone who supported him throughout his career and said the moment had arrived to embrace a new chapter.”The reality of life is that everything has a beginning and everything has an end. When the time comes, you simply have to respect it and move forward. I have always relied on timing in my batting and have always understood its importance. Today, I feel the timing is right for me to move on and announce my retirement from international cricket and all formats. From those early days, travelling from Dombivli as a young boy just to practice, I gave this game everything I had,” Rahane said.
The announcement marks the end of a career that spanned more than a decade and saw him represent India across all three formats.
