A young saviour risked his life and rescued seven people from the collapsed building in Bhiwandi

Bhiwandi: Ibrahim Ansari, a 22-year-old saviour who put the life at risk and pulled out at least seven people alive from the building without any injuries, including his wife and father before the building collapsed. 

Ibrahim Ansari who resides with his wife Sabina Ibrahim Ansari (19) and his father Bilal Ansari (45) on the third floor of Jilani apartment located Patel compound in Dhamankar Naka in Bhiwandi.

Ibrahim who works as a tailor in Bhiwandi got married to Sabina in January 2020 and rented a flat here for Rs 2,200.

Ibrahim Ansari while speaking to thenews21, said “I woke up at around 3.30 when I heard some residents were screaming that the building was going to collapse. I then immediately, along with my father and wife got down from the thirds floor to ground without any injury. I have kept them in a safe place. Meanwhile, I helped five people who were from my building and rescued them too before the building collapsed like a pack of cards with the sound of a bomb blast. The whole area was covered with dust”.

He added that many people contacted the local civic corporation but they could reach the spot by 4.30 am.

Ibrahim Ansari was unemployed for the last five months due to Coronavirus pandemic. “Now again a big tragedy is onto my shoulders as the gold ornaments, cash and house old stuff all have been destroyed. How will I manage my life? Will the state government look at us during the tragedy?” Ibrahim asked the government.-By Narendra Gupta
