A friendly cricket match played between team of 57 battalion BSF and Kulangam Knights at BSF camp, Handwara

Srinagar: On Sunday a friendly cricket match of 15 overs a side was played between Kulangam Knights and 57 Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) at its Handwara camp. Surendra Mishra, Commandant 57 Bn BSF welcomed the captains of the two teams, captain Bashir Ahmad (Kulangam Knights), Dr Pradeep Kumar (57 Bn BSF) and their players.

The toss was won by 57 Bn BSF and chose the fielding. Kulangam Knights made a total of 58 runs in 12 overs. In their reply, the 57 Bn BSF made 64 runs in 9 overs and won the match by 7 wickets.

Subedar Major Shailesh Pratap Singh (vice-captain 57 Battalion BSF) nominated man of the match. Surendra Mishra Commandant 57 Bn BSF addressed the both teams and congratulated the winning team.

Commandant Surendra Mishra said such type of cricket matches will boost the morale of local population as well as security forces. He further assured to organise such a type of event in future with local people.
