Polling is underway for by elections to three Lok Sabha and 30 Assembly seats spread over 14 states. Lok Sabha bypolls are being held for Khandwa Lok Sabha Constituency in Madhya Pradesh, Mandi in Himachal Pradesh and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.

The byelections to 30 Assembly seats are being held in 14 states including Assam, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Karnataka, Haryana and Maharashtra.
In Madhya Pradesh, 25.23 percent polling was recorded in Khandwa Lok Sabha seat while 28.55 percent in Jobat, 34.52 percent in Prithvipur and 33.62 percent polling recorded in Raigaon assembly seats till 11 am.

In Maharashtra, the bypoll for the Deglur- Biloli assembly seat in Nanded district is underway. The polling began at 7 in the morning. People in large number have been queueing outside the polling stations to exercise their right to franchise. As many as 12 candidates, including of main contenders from congress and the BJP, are in the fray.

The by-election was necessitated after the death of sitting Congress MLA Raosaheb Antapurkar a few months back. The counting of votes will take place on November 2.

In Assam, peaceful voting is on for the bye polls in 5 assembly seats. Nearly 32 percent polling has been reported by 11 AM. Polling will continue till 5 pm. Webcasting is also being done to keep an eye on the poll process.

A total of 31 candidates including the ruling BJP and its ally UPPL, opposition Congress, AIUDF, BPF and Independent candidates are in the fray.
