Six places linked to Sood are being ‘surveyed’ by the I-T department, reported NDTV. If reports are to be believed, the agency is conducting a property survey after allegations of discrepancy in the account book.
The tax raids come days after the actor’s high-profile meeting with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who declared him the brand ambassador for his government’s mentorship programme for school students in the capital. Sonu Sood had later denied any plans for a political debut with Mr Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
The 47-year-old actor has played a pivotal role in rendering aid amid the pandemic, being catapulted into the national spotlight and winning hearts.
